I Ching Interpretation

Symbolism & Structure

The Dai Suc hexagram has the Lower trigram as Can (Thien/Cuong suc), the Upper triangular as Can (Son/Ngh rest). Can's maximum power is being held back by Can's stillness. This is not a deterrent to destroy, but a compression of the spring to rebound more strongly. The image of a mountain containing the sky shows a person with great ambition, in the stage of 'hiding and waiting for the right time', acquiring knowledge and money to prepare for a great career.

Philosophy & Virtues

The philosophy of the Great Cattle hexagram teaches: 'Great cattle, good virginity, no family food, good fortune, great success'. It is good to maintain integrity in large accumulations. 'No food at home' means not eating at home, which means you should go out into society, participate in big jobs, and serve the country. The gentleman in the Dai Su period had to 'learn from the words and actions of the ancients to cultivate virtue.'

Line by Line Analysis

1st Line

Hao So Cuu: 'Very useful, beneficial'. There is danger, you should stop. When you first start accumulating, your strength is still weak, but if you want to advance immediately, you will face disaster. Knowing when to stop is wise.

2nd Line

Hao Cuu Nhi: 'Residual theory'. The car's axle fell off. The inner power (Qian) is too great but is hindered, causing inhibition. Be patient in repairing your 'means' (capacity).

3rd Line

Hao Cuu Tam: 'If you're loyal, you'll be dishonest. The Japanese are leisurely and guarded, and the benefits are wandering around. Good horses chase each other. Every day, I practice martial arts and prepare carefully. This is the ripe stage of accumulation, where you can start to act but still have to be cautious.

4th Line

Hao Luc Tu: 'Dong Nguu Chi Co, Nguyen Sand'. Wooden stick attached to the calf's horn (prevented from an early age). Address the problem at its root, preventing aggression through early education and discipline. Very auspicious.

5th Line

Hao Luc Ngu: 'It's bad, bad'. The wild boar's fangs are castrated (to lose their ferocity). Use gentleness to tactfully control stubbornness. Success thanks to the art of management.

6th Line

Hao Thuong Cuu: 'Ha Thien chi is tickling, hanh'. Road to the sky. Accumulation has reached its peak, all barriers have been broken. This is when the power is completely released, achieving absolute success.

General Discussion

The Dai Suu hexagram reminds: If you want to do big things (daily cards), you must have great preparation. People who rush will never have the energy of this hexagram.

Morning Advice

Take time to study or upgrade yourself. What you learn today will be the foundation for your future career. A day of stillness and accumulation.

Love & Relationships

The relationship is building. It takes time to deeply understand the other person. If you want to get married, make sure your economic and spiritual foundation is really solid.

Dau Nam

Year of promotion after a long period of quiet efforts. You will receive results worthy of what you have accumulated. Fortune and reputation both prosper.

Career & Success

Very convenient for studying for a title, degree or promotion to important positions. You have powerful resources in your hands. Use it wisely.

Wealth & Business

Abundant money thanks to long-term investment or previous accumulation. This is the time to 'harvest' but don't forget to continue reinvesting in your internal resources.

Health & Well-being

Good health, abundant energy. However, due to the 'compression' nature of the hexagram, it is necessary to pay attention to releasing stress and avoid letting stress accumulate for a long time, leading to outbreaks of illness.

Luu Y Dac Biet

Don't be hasty in steps 1 and 2. Great things can only be accomplished when you are 'thick' enough in both talent and virtue.

Strategic Insights

Risk Analysis

The biggest risk is 'stasis'. Accumulating without knowing how to apply it (step 6) will turn strength into stagnation. In addition, arrogance because of having a lot of capital is also a trap.

Strategy

If you do the opposite (You will always be in a state of uncertainty and never have enough strength to confront the 'big river' (real difficulties). The Great Cattle Hexagram teaches that true wealth lies in reserve capacity.
