I Ching Interpretation

Symbolism & Structure

The Dai Qua hexagram has the Upper trigram being Doai (Trach/Joy), the Lower trigram being Ton (Phong/Nhuan). However, looking at the trench structure: the 4 Yang trenches in the middle are very strong but the 2 Yin trenches at the beginning and end (foundation and roof) are too weak. Image of 'scraped pile' (bent and broken truss column). The burden of career or life is too much for the current platform to bear.

Philosophy & Virtues

The philosophy of the Great Qua hexagram teaches: 'Great past, heaps of scrapes, benefits and friends are wandering, good'. When the situation is too extreme, if you just sit still, the columns will break and the house will collapse. We must act now (to get out of the deadlock). The gentleman in the Dai Qua period had to be 'independent and independent of anything, without fear' (to stand independently without fear, even if he had to seclude himself, he would not be sad). This is the time when extraordinary bravery is needed to turn the world around or to accept sacrifice to save the world.

Line by Line Analysis

1st Line

Hao So Luc: 'The shop uses white hair, no coffin'. Use white thatch grass to line the offerings. Show utmost caution at the outset of a dangerous situation. If the foundation is weak, you must be extremely careful.

2nd Line

Hao Cuu Nhi: 'Kho Duong Sinh Sinh, this old man is proud of his wife, there are no disadvantages'. The dry willow tree sprouts green shoots, the old man gets a young wife. An out-of-phase combination that brings new vitality and saves the situation.

3rd Line

Hao Cuu Tam: 'A pile of scrapes, a mess'. The truss pole was bent and broken. Due to being too arrogant in personal strength without considering the foundation, it leads to inevitable collapse.

4th Line

Hao Cuu Tu: 'Pile of dragons and sand; '. The column is raised, good. Thanks to knowing how to find timely support or reform, you can keep your house from collapsing. But if you have your own intentions (forgiveness), you will be ashamed.

5th Line

Hao Cuu Ngu: 'The dry yang gives birth to flowers, the old man is a wonderful scholar, without worries'. The dry willow tree blooms, the old woman gets a young husband. Beauty is only temporary, not sustainable. Half-hearted efforts do not bring lasting results.

6th Line

Hao Thuong Luc: 'It's too bad to destroy the attachment, it's bad, it's irresistible'. Wading through water so deep that it covered the top of my head. Even though he encountered disaster (danger), but for a noble purpose (sacrifice for righteousness), there was no moral error.

General Discussion

The Great Qua hexagram reminds: When pressure exceeds the limit, only radical change can survive.

Divination & Guidance

Work & Affairs

The situation is extremely tense. The workload or financial pressure is overwhelming. Don't try to bear the burden alone. There needs to be a comprehensive reform or cutting out unnecessary parts immediately.

Morning Advice

A day full of pressure. You feel like everything is weighing heavily on your shoulders. Prioritize the most urgent tasks and don't be afraid to ask for help.

Love & Relationships

The relationship is at breaking point. There is a big difference in opinion, age or position. It takes extraordinary tolerance or a decisive decision not to make each other suffer more.

Dau Nam

A year of many major events. You will have to face 'thousand-thousand-hanging' challenges. If you can overcome it, you will grow immensely.

Career & Success

The burden of responsibility is too great. Maybe you're taking on a position that's beyond your current qualifications. Learn how to distribute power and pay attention to the 'foundation' (human resources, capital).

Wealth & Business

High risk. Money is being overinvested in risky projects. Avoid accumulating debt leading to inability to pay.

Health & Well-being

Warning of exhaustion. Too much mental pressure can lead to serious physical weakness. Need to rest and relieve pressure right before the 'truss' of the body collapses.

Luu Y Dac Biet

If you cast this hexagram, you absolutely will not be 'smooth'. Silence at this time is synonymous with death. Action must be taken, even if it is risky action.

Strategic Insights

Risk Analysis

The biggest risk is 'obstinacy' (moat 3). When you think you are strong enough to carry the sky without looking down at your feet standing in the mud, you will be crushed.

Strategy

If you do the opposite (Avoid responsibility): You will be temporarily safe but will lose the opportunity to do extraordinary things. Dai Qua is the hexagram of the heroes of the chaos.
