Symbolism & Structure

The Lam hexagram has the Lower trigram as Doai (Trach/Joy), the Upper trigram is Khon (Earth/Nhuan). The two Yang channels below are growing strong and pushing the Yin channels upward. This is a statue of the coming spring, good things are emerging. The high ground overlooking the lagoon represents the leader's attitude: both tolerant like the soil, cheerful and gentle like the lagoon, but always closely observed and managed.

Philosophy & Virtues

The philosophy of the Lam hexagram teaches that: 'Form, original success, profit. Chi vu eight moons are evil'. Progress is very smooth, but be careful because in August (recession period) there will be bad omens. This reminds us that nothing prospers forever. When you have the upper hand, you must manage with your heart (taking care of the people like the land that protects you) and prepare for the fall. The best management is management with love and understanding.

1st Line

Hao So Cuu: 'Ham Lam, virgin sand'. Let's move forward with integrity. This is the starting point of Duong Dong, with the consensus of superiors to achieve the goal. Maintaining morality will bring you good luck.

2nd Line

Hao Cuu Nhi: 'Ham Lam, no harm'. Let's move forward together and receive absolute support. You have talent and time. Everything done now is not beneficial.

3rd Line

Hao Luc Tam: 'Cam Lam, no du loi. Sign of sadness, no regrets'. Management with sweet words (but lack of substance). If you notice this superficiality and know how to worry and make changes, you will not be at fault.

4th Line

Hao Luc Tu: 'Chi lam, no cuck'. Come fully forward. Know how to humble yourself to find talented people or cooperate with subordinates sincerely. This is wise management.

Hao Luc Ngu: 'Tri Lam, the great army has doubts and blessings'. Manage with wisdom. Know how to use talented people to work for you instead of doing it all yourself. This is the demeanor of a wise man, extremely good.

6th Line

Hao Thuong Luc: 'Don Lam, no sand'. Approach with generosity and kindness. Use virtue to influence others in the final stage. Kindness brings fulfilling results.

Que Lam emphasized: Leadership is not about imposing, but about 'Lam' (coming closer) to understand and support.
