Before Completion (Weiji)
Symbolizes unfinished business, transition, hope and the eternal movement of life as a new cycle is taking shape.
6-Line Structure
I Ching Interpretation
Symbolism & Structure
The Vi Te hexagram has the Lower trigram being Kham (Water), the Upper trigram being Ly (Fire). All lines are in the wrong position (Yang line is in Yin position and vice versa). This may sound bad but is actually an arrangement to prepare for a change. Contrary to the 'freezing' of Ky Te, Vi Te is a hexagram of pressure and movement. Fire above, Water below - the contradiction creates the driving force for all things to change.
Philosophy & Virtues
The philosophy of the Vi Te hexagram teaches: 'The subtle, the good. The small lake is gentle, majestic and majestic, with no leisure'. The little fox has almost reached shore, but getting its tail wet won't do any good. This is a reminder: The closer you get to the end, the more cautious you must be. The I Ching ends with the hexagram Vi Te (Not Yet Done) instead of Ky Te (Done) to affirm that the universe is an endless flow, never having an absolute end. A gentleman encountering this hexagram must be 'careful with objects' (carefully distinguish the properties of objects to arrange them in the right place).
Line by Line Analysis
1st Line
Hao So Luc: 'Nui is magnificent, cheat'. Wet the tail. Rushing into action without proper preparation leads to shame. Warning about impulsiveness at the beginning.
2nd Line
Hao Cuu Nhi: 'Due Ky Luan, Trinh Cat'. Pull the wheel brake. Know how to control your impatience to wait for the right moment. It is good to maintain a strong heart.
3rd Line
Hao Luc Tam: 'Be kind, conquer and be fierce, take advantage of the great cross'. If you're not done yet, if you rush forward, it's a bad thing. But if you use that unfinished business as motivation to overcome great difficulties (crossing the river), it will be beneficial. Need a decisive transformation.
4th Line
Hao Cuu Tu: 'Trinh sand regrets, punishes ghosts, three years friends reward the great nation'. It is good to maintain a strong heart. Determined to attack evil, three years will bring great rewards. The period of extreme efforts to turn the situation around.
5th Line
Hao Luc Ngu: 'The virginity has no regrets, the gentleman has the light, the husband and wife are happy'. Keeping the righteous path is good, no regrets. The light of a gentleman is radiant and has sincere faith. This is the main line of the hexagram, signaling that success is approaching.
6th Line
Hao Thuong Cuu: 'If you have a husband, you drink wine, you don't have any food. If you want to play chess, you will lose your friend'. Have faith and drink happily, without guilt. But if you drink so much that your head gets wet (you lose self-control), you will lose your clarity and confidence. Don't let yourself fall at the last minute.
General Discussion
The Taste Hexagram reminds: Nothing in this world is forever. The end of one is the beginning of the other. Always keep the spirit of a beginner.

Love & Relationships
The relationship is in the learning or transition stage (from friends to love, from love to marriage). A bit confused and unstable. Need patience and trust in the future.
Dau Nam
A year of transformation and hope. You will change your work environment or start a completely new project. Be careful in the final steps of each stage.

Wealth & Business
There is no immediate large source of revenue. Money is in the process of investment circulation. Be persistent, results will come after a period of effort (3 years - 4 years).
Health & Well-being
The body is in the process of recovering or changing its circadian rhythm. It is necessary to pay attention to maintaining moderation, especially avoiding stimulant abuse (item 6), which can damage the recovery process.
Luu Y Dac Biet
If you cast the Vi Te hexagram, smile because the game still continues. Unfinished work is your opportunity to do better in the next iteration.
Strategic Insights
Risk Analysis
The biggest risk is 'giving up at minute 89' (moment 1) or 'falling into pleasure before actually reaching the finish line' (moment 6). Vi Te requires a persistent will until the very last second.
Strategy
If you do the opposite (Consider everything done): You will be caught off guard and fail right at the finish line. The Decent Hexagram teaches that only when you accept imperfection will you have the motivation to evolve forever.
