6-Line Structure

I Ching Interpretation

Symbolism & Structure

The Ky Te hexagram has the Lower trigram as Ly (Fire), the Upper trigram as Kham (Water). This is the only hexagram in the 64 hexagrams where all the lines are in the correct position (the Yang line is in the Yang position, the Yin line is in the Yin position). This absolute balance represents an ideal state, but in I Ching philosophy, 'the greatest prosperity inevitably declines' – when it is too perfect, disintegration will begin.

Philosophy & Virtues

The philosophy of the Ky Te hexagram teaches: 'Ky te, haughty little, beneficial virgin. Chu sand is in chaos'. The beginning is good, but the end is chaotic. The gentleman who encounters the Ky Te hexagram must 'think about misfortune and prepare in advance'. When everything is done, people often develop a mentality of enjoyment and laziness. The lesson here is: Maintaining success is more difficult than finding success.

Line by Line Analysis

1st Line

Hao So Cuu: 'Dei Ky Luan, Su Ky Vi, No Cuu'. Pull the brake on the wheel, wetting the tail. When you first succeed, know how to slow down your excitement and be careful like a fox crossing a river to keep its tail from getting wet. No error.

2nd Line

Hao Luc Nhi: 'Futures are buried, objects are thrown away, and seven days are achieved'. The woman lost her car curtain. Don't chase it, it will come back 7 days later. It means that when you encounter a small loss when times are good, be patient, your integrity will bring everything back.

3rd Line

Hao Cuu Tam: 'The Gao Tong punishes the ghosts, the three years are victorious, the petty people'. King Cao Tong fought from afar and took three years to win. Big things require extraordinary time and energy. Absolutely do not use petty people for profit during this period.

4th Line

Hao Luc Tu: 'Be as gentle as you are, sharing the same world'. My shirt was torn and I had to use rags to mend it, so I was afraid all day. Warnings of small cracks starting to appear in the system. Must be on high alert to repair immediately.

5th Line

Hao Cuu Ngu: 'The Eastern scale kills the cow, not like the Western scale, it is truly a blessing'. The neighbor to the East who sacrifices a large bull is not as good as the neighbor to the West who sacrifices simply and sincerely. Success actually lies in sincerity and practicality, not in ostentatious appearance.

6th Line

Hao Thuong Luc: 'If you play chess, you will be shy'. Head soaked. Danger. Because of being too complacent, one gets bogged down in pleasure, like someone crossing a river and letting the water flood their heads. The outcome is very bad.

General Discussion

The Ky Te Hexagram reminds: The peak is the beginning of the abyss. Don't let satisfaction kill your sanity.

Divination & Guidance

Work & Affairs

Everything has achieved its goal. This is the time to summarize, accept and enjoy the results. However, absolutely do not start a new project immediately. Focus on maintenance and consolidation.

Morning Advice

A leisurely day. You will complete the final tasks. Take the time to review small errors before closing your application.

Love & Relationships

The relationship has come to a happy ending (marriage or deep commitment). However, be careful of the boredom that arises after 'belonging to each other'. Need to renew feelings regularly.

Dau Nam

A year of harvest. You will receive a worthy reward for your past efforts. Pay attention to preserving your health and property, avoid the subjective mentality of 'resting on your laurels'.

Career & Success

The position is solid. You may get a promotion or complete an important assignment. Be humble and start training the next person.

Wealth & Business

Abundant but has reached ceiling level. Money poured in from old investments. Avoid borrowing for large-scale expansion at this time because fortunes are starting to decline.

Health & Well-being

Good, but you need to pay attention to chronic diseases that show signs of returning due to subjective reasons. Don't drink too much at celebration parties.

Luu Y Dac Biet

When casting the Ky Te hexagram, remember the saying: 'Be careful, don't worry'. Success is not an endpoint, but a state that needs to be continuously protected.

Strategic Insights

Risk Analysis

The biggest risk is 'degeneration' (moat 6). When everything is in place, people no longer have the motivation to strive, leading to internal rot.

Strategy

If you do the opposite (Continue to attack strongly): You will disrupt the existing balance and cause yourself to fail sooner. The Ky Te hexagram teaches that conservatism (in the positive sense of preserving) is the most correct action at this time.
