6-Line Structure
I Ching Interpretation
Symbolism & Structure
The Hang Hexagram has the Lower trigram being Ton (Phong/Eldest female), the Upper triangular being Chan (Loi/Eldest male). In contrast to the Ham hexagram (male below, female superior - when flirting), the Hang hexagram places the male above as leader and the female below as a submissive follower. This is a statue of a settled family. Wind and thunder often go together in storms, symbolizing shared suffering.
Philosophy & Virtues
The philosophy of the Hang hexagram teaches: 'Perpetual, happy, eternal, profitable, beneficial and wandering'. Sustainability does not mean standing still in one place (standing still is death). Constant is movement with rules, like the four changing seasons but the cycle is eternal. The gentleman who meets the Hang hexagram must 'stand immovable' (stand without changing direction), persevere in his ideals but be flexible in his methods. Perseverance is the key to overcoming all hardships.
Line by Line Analysis
1st Line
Hao So Luc: 'Tuan Hang, Trinh Hung, No Du Loi'. Wanting to be overly sustainable from the start. Warning about forcing stability when there is not enough foundation. Impatiently praying for a long time will lead to failure.
2nd Line
Hao Cuu Nhi: 'Regret'. Regret is gone. By maintaining a righteous path, neither too rigid nor too soft, sustainability is naturally established.
3rd Line
Hao Cuu Tam: 'If there is no constant virtue, or if there is too much practice, it is a lie'. Unable to maintain steadfast virtue, sometimes this way, sometimes that way. You will face shame and be despised by people.
4th Line
Hao Cuu Tu: 'Fill in the harp'. Hunting in the field without animals. Due to looking for sustainability in the wrong place (or with the wrong method), we work hard without results.
5th Line
Hao Luc Ngu: 'Hang Ky is virtuous, virgin, wife is good, husband is bad'. Maintain steadfast virtue. For women (submissives) it is good, but for men (leaders) being too rigid and conservative is bad.
6th Line
Hao Thuong Luc: 'Chanh hang, fierce'. Stable in a disturbing, insecure way. Trying to maintain something that has rotted through noise and coercion. Huge ending.
General Discussion
The Constant hexagram reminds: True sustainability lies in the unchanging mind amid the ever-changing flow of life, not in blind stubbornness.

Strategic Insights
Risk Analysis
The biggest risk is 'conservatism' and 'stagnation'. When sustainability turns into laziness to change (moment 6), you will fall behind the development of society.
Strategy
If you do the opposite (Always changing, lacking consistency): You will be like someone who digs wells everywhere but never finds water. The Hang hexagram teaches that without the accumulation of time, there can never be a change in quality.
