I Ching Interpretation

Symbolism & Structure

The Cau hexagram has the Lower trigram being Ton (Phong/Nhuan/Eldest female), the Upper trigram being Can (Thien/Cuong sue/Eldest male). A new Yin line appears at the bottom of the five Yang lines. After the Quai hexagram (Yang is extremely prosperous), the Yin nature begins to arise. This is the image of a strong but nefarious woman (Yin in line 1) trying to infiltrate and corrupt the system of 5 men (Yang). This meeting seems accidental but carries great risk.

Philosophy & Virtues

The philosophy of the Cau hexagram teaches: 'The structure, the strong woman, the object of the woman'. Strong women should not be married (figuratively: bad things that have just emerged should not be associated with). A gentleman who encounters the Cau hexagram must "give orders to all four directions" (give orders to all four directions) to deter evil from the time he is young. Don't ignore the initial signs of wrongdoing, because the 'wind' can blow away the whole 'heaven' if you don't know how to stop it. The meeting in the Cau hexagram requires bravery to not be dazzled by beauty or fake benefits.

Line by Line Analysis

1st Line

Hao So Luc: 'Vu kim ne system, virgin sand. Good people wander about, ants are evil, thin and weak are in control. Tying in a brass brake (immediate stop) is good. If you let it advance, you will be in trouble, like a skinny pig that keeps jumping around and causing trouble. We must destroy the seeds of evil from the beginning.

2nd Line

Hao Cuu Nhi: 'There are many fish, no fish, no disadvantage'. There's fish in the kitchen, it's not a mistake, but it's not a good idea to entertain guests. It means that you have controlled the evil (fish), keep it inside, don't let it spread to society.

3rd Line

Hao Cuu Tam: 'The station has no husband, when it's time to let go, the tears, there's no big uncle'. The buttocks have no meat, making it difficult to walk. Wants to make friends with line 1 but is blocked by line 2. Even though it was frustrating and dangerous, because I didn't encounter any bad things, there was no big mistake.

4th Line

Hao Cuu Tu: 'If the fish is empty, then there will be trouble'. There is no fish in the kitchen (out of control with trench 1). Because we are far away from the masses or let down our guard, we let the good things disappear and the bad things prevail. Bad results.

5th Line

Hao Cuu Ngu: 'Dich Ky has passed, Ham Chuong, right still comes from heaven'. Use leaves to cover the melon, hiding the beauty inside. The leader's tolerance and ingenuity help transform evil without violence. Good omen from heaven.

6th Line

Hao Thuong Cuu: 'It's strangely enlightening, it's cheating, it's endless'. Meet at the horn. The meeting was rigid, dry, and brought no benefits. Although there is shame because of loneliness, there is no major mistake.

General Discussion

The Hexagram reminds: Decadence always begins with small joys and chance encounters. Keep yourself strong against all temptations.
