Symbolism & Structure

The Pancreas hexagram has the Lower trigram as Khon (Earth/Nhuan), the Upper trigram as Doai (Trach/Joy). The lagoon water (Doai) gathers on the ground (Khôn). Khon is tolerance, Doai is joy. Meetings are based on voluntariness, joy and are supported by a strong moral foundation. However, where there are many people gathered, conflicts and thefts can easily arise, so the Pancreas hexagram always reminds about prevention.

Philosophy & Virtues

The philosophy of the Pancreas hexagram teaches: 'Pancreas, health. The king and the king have a temple. Loi sees the great man, hanh, loi trinh'. When the masses gather, the leader must have a 'shrine' (a place of spirituality and faith) to unite everyone. You must follow great people (people with great virtue) to succeed. A gentleman encountering the Pancreas hexagram must 'remove all qi and abstain from stupidity' (repair weapons to prevent unexpected events). The strongest solidarity is the one that is both mentally and physically prepared to protect the results.

Line by Line Analysis

1st Line

Hao So Luc: 'My husband and I are not together, our grandmother is in chaos. Weak effect, the most evil laugh, the death'. There is trust but it is not durable, sometimes it dissolves, causing chaos. If you know how to encourage everyone to work together and ignore small disagreements, you will be happy and not worried.

2nd Line

Hao Luc Nhi: 'If you don't use the sand, the wife will use the dahlia'. Be drawn into the gathering in a good way. Just being sincere (like a small flute offering) is enough to connect. Make no mistakes, maintain integrity.

3rd Line

Hao Luc Tam: 'The pancreas is like me, no du loi. Gone forever, little cheat'. Wanting to gather together but being left out, lamenting and sighing. Moving forward is not a big mistake, but it will be a bit embarrassing due to the unstable position.

4th Line

Hao Cuu Tu: 'Great auspiciousness'. Very good, no errors. In a position to help leaders hold mass meetings. If you are not selfish and act for the greater good, you will achieve great success.

5th Line

Hao Cuu Ngu: 'The pancreas has a taste, no body. Philanthropist, eternal virgin, regretful'. The group meets in a supreme position. If there are people who are not yet convinced, use your long-lasting virtue to convert them. Once trust is established, regret disappears. This is the main line of the hexagram.

6th Line

Hao Thuong Luc: 'The fourth wife, the fourth wife, the late wife, no coffin'. Lamentation, tears of anxiety at the end of the gathering. Although the situation seemed dangerous, thanks to awareness and sincerity, no mistakes were made.

General Discussion

The Pancreas Hexagram reminds: Collective strength is invincible, but without discipline and preparation (weapons), the crowd will become chaotic when faced with a crisis.
