6-Line Structure
I Ching Interpretation
Symbolism & Structure
The Tiet hexagram has the Lower trigram as Doai (Trach/Nho Thuan/Joy), the Upper trigram is Kham (Water/Danger/Difficulty). Water (Mosaic) is above Dam (Doai). Without moderation, the water will flood the lagoon; If too much is done, the lagoon will dry up. The word 'Tiet' also means burning bamboo, dividing the bamboo tree into solid sections. This division creates strength and order.
Philosophy & Virtues
The philosophy of the Tiet hexagram teaches: 'Tiet, hanh. Suffering and unchastity'. Abstinence is successful, but if abstinence is too harsh (hard abstinence), it cannot be maintained long term. The gentleman who meets the Tiet hexagram must 'moderate numbers and discuss virtue' (set levels and discuss virtue). Moderation is not about repression, but about creating a framework for creativity and energy to develop in a directed way. A life without limits is a broken life.
Line by Line Analysis
1st Line
Hao So Cuu: 'No family, no coffin'. Do not go out of the yard door. Know how to stop right from the beginning when the time is not favorable. This self-restraint helps avoid any mistakes.
2nd Line
Hao Cuu Nhi: 'If you don't leave the temple, you'll be fierce'. Don't go out of the gateway. The time has come and if you still stubbornly abstain and refuse to act, you will face disaster. Warning of conservatism, missed opportunities.
3rd Line
Hao Luc Tam: 'If you don't tell me you're weak, you'll be weak, you won't be able to contain yourself'. If you don't know how to control yourself, you will have to complain. Due to the desire for fun (Doai), we forget the limits, the result is regret. But if you know suffering and wake up, there is no big mistake.
4th Line
Hao Luc Tu: 'Happy, happy'. Rest assured with moderation. See discipline as voluntary and a joy, not a burden. Achieve success through high self-awareness.
5th Line
Hao Cuu Ngu: 'Forgiveness, good fortune, and the past'. Sweet moderation. The leader sets an example of moderation, causing people to voluntarily follow. Great blessings, moving forward has merit.
6th Line
Hao Thuong Luc: 'Suffering, shame, regret'. Moderation is too harsh and extreme. Harshness offends people and causes suffering to oneself. Even though the intention is good (virgin), the result is still bad (hung).
General Discussion
The Tiet Hexagram reminds: The art of living lies in 'just enough'. Lack of moderation leads to chaos, too much moderation leads to death.

Strategic Insights
Risk Analysis
The biggest risk is 'harshness' (moat 6) or 'missed opportunity' (moat 2). If you apply discipline too mechanically, you will stifle creativity and joy in life.
Strategy
If you do the opposite (Living freely, without limits): You will be like a flood breaking the dike, your energy will be scattered and your life will soon fall into ruin.
